Bulgaria expects constitutional guarantees to respect the rights of the Macedonian Bulgarians before the Republic of North Macedonia starts negotiations for EU membership.
This was confirmed by President Rumen Radev at a meeting with the ambassadors from the EU member states and Switzerland on February 8.
During the talks, the Head of State said that Bulgaria expects specific results to be achieved, both in the spheres of the economy and connectivity, as well as on the open bilateral issues.
Radev also reminded that Bulgaria is ready to join the Schengen area.
