Sofia Prosecutor’s office said on June it has identified an accomplice of the man from whose rented apartment in late May the police seized 327 kg of cocaine.
The person M.N. was established to be an accomplice after a large number of searches and seizures, eight DNA tests, three finger print analyses, trasological and graphic examinations.
The investigation is on-going under the leadership of Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
On May 27, investigators seized more than 320 kg of cocaine in Students’ city in Sofia. The drugs were found in an apartment rented by a man, N.P. who was detained on May 24 with 40 kg of cocaine in his car. The cocaine was with high purity. 248 packages were found in a wardrobe in the bedroom and 79 packages were found in a chest o drawers in the kitchen.
Georgi Hadzhiev, director of Sofia Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior at the time explained that the packages were marked with eight different stamps which means that the cocaine is of different type of purity, depending on the stamp that is placed. The price of 1 kg is different, depending on the quality of the cocaine, he added.
He said that at wholesale prices, its value is estimated at 10 - 11 million euros
