The search for missing Bulgarian climber Boyan Petrov along the slopes of Shishpangma in the Himalayas is coming to an end. Today, 16th of May, a helicopter again flew over the area of the peak to a height of 7400 m.
Traces of the Bulgarian mountaineer were not found. One of the participants in the rescue operation and a close friend of Boyan Petrov, Kiril Petkov, wrote on his facebook page that he thanked everyone for the efforts.
In his words, from now on the rescue operation could only endanger other human lives.
The rescue operation from the Chinese and Bulgarian sides has not been officially suspended yet.
