Rock fall on the road to Rila Monastery in the section near the village of Pastra closed one of the lanes and disrupted traffic to the Holy Monastery for a few hours on 17th of April.
Traffic of buses and lorries was temporarily suspended. Regional Road Administration teams cleared much of the stones, sand and parts of the trees that fell on the road. Experts will assess how to strengthen the stretch - with nets or building a retaining wall.
