Seventh case of coronavirus was confirmed in Bulgaria on March 11. A 62 year old doctor tested positive. The results come from tests carried out in two separate laboratories.
The woman was admitted to the infectious diseases clinic of the Military Medical Academy.
She did not contact any patient in Bulgaria. On February 23, she last appeared at her workplace, after which she attended two congresses - one in England, one in Spain. She is not in serious condition, added the head of the coronavirus task force, Prof. Mutafchiyski.
Regarding the first death of coronavirus, the woman who died at Pirogov, the head of the task force said that she had previous heart problems and chronic conditions. Despite the doctors' efforts, she died at 3:40 pm today.
The son of the deceased woman tested negative for Covid-19. He does not work at the Iliyantsi Market, as it was initially announced, but at the Iliyantsi Railway Station, Prof. Mutafchiiski said. Her husband, who also tested positive for coronavirus, remains for treatment at Pirogov. He is not intubated, but additional oxygen supply is required.
The seven inconclusive samples expected today tested negative, the results of other 60 samples from Gabrovo are expected tomorrow, the professor added.
