Sharp increase in the number of medical professionals infected with coronavirus

The total of medical specialists infected with the coronavirus in Bulgaria rose to 129 on April 24. In Sofia alone, 21 new cases were confirmed today.

It is really worrying that the number of infected medics is increasing. 34 were confirmed in the past 24 hours. Such upward trend will inevitably lead to various problems, especially in the medical establishments across the country.

The hospital with the largest number of cases is the one in Vidin - 29. 12 of them were reported today. Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia reported new cases of 24 infected medics. Today, 64 more medical professionals are tested there, but their results were negative.

Sofia's St. Ivan Rilski Hospital is the other hospital with a large number of affected staff - 13 medical specialists.

The number of medical professionals from the medical emergency centre in Sofia, who tested positive for the virus is now 14.

Bulgaria reported a record high number in the coronavirus cases after 107 were registered by 17.00 on April 24, thus bringing the total to 1188.
