The ship "Vera Su", stranded on Bulgaria’s Black sea coast after she ran aground on September 20, is now in Varna Bay. The vessel is accompanied by the three tugs that tow her. The rescue operation was possible after the last amount of nitrogen fertiliser was removed from the ship yesterday, October 25.

At around 10 pm last night, three tugs - Castor, Alkaid and Sanmar 13 - arrived at the scene.

16 minutes after midnight, the ship "Vera Su" was pulled from the shallows near Kamen Bryag, where she ran aground on September 20.

Before that, the last quantities of emulsion left over from the flooded cargo were drained from it, and water was constantly pumped from the hold.

The ship Vera Su, travelling on route from Ukraine to the port of Varna, got stuck in the rocks near the protected area of Yaylata on September 20,

No member of the ship's crew was injured in the incident, and there was no spill at sea. The ship, sailing under a Panamanian flag, was transporting nitrogen fertilizers from Ukraine to Varna.

The Maritime Administration announced that the entire crew consisted of 9 people, all Turkish citizens. The ship is owned by a Turkish company.

The sailors from the ship were evacuated on October 6.

On October 8, charges were pressed against the captain and his second assistant for causing the incident.
