Summer repair on Bulgaria’s highways to be over mid-June

Minister of regional development and public works, promised earlier today that repair activity on Trakia highway sector between 160-140 km be over in a couple of days.

Nicholay Nankov considers May and June the best months for reconstruction works on the roads of the country. Repair activity has been designated by the necessary road signs.

Regional minister pointed out that bypasses could be seen on the site of the Road Infrastructure Agency. The only places where reconstruction works would continue are the bridge facilities of Hemus highway.

Nicholay Nankov, Minister of regional development and public work:
"The bridge is in a dramatically bad condition, especially at the 36^th km. Repair work is under way there… The base of the bridge is being repaired – the lower part of the columns and the bridge’s fundament. The right tubes of Echemishka and Vitinja tunnels will also be repaired. As for the Hemus highway sector on the territory of Shumen area in the Varna direction which is as well under reconstruction, it is expected to be ready by 22 June at the latest."
