The Regional Health Inspection imposed a temporary swimming ban at the Officer’s Beach in the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal city of Varna on 13th of June.
The ban was put in place because the first sea water samples showed levels of bacteria, which were twice higher than the required standards.
The tests show that the water quality for the rest of the beaches in Varna and the region complies with the standards and there are no indicators of health risk for the bathers.
However, the ban at the Officer’s beach will remain in place until the analysis of the sea water showed compliance with the standards.
Bathing water quality is monitored at a regular basis.
