The beauty of Bulgaria: Koprivshtitsa in the summer (see pics)

Historians still have no unanimous opinion about the creation of Koprivshtitsa, there are different legends.

In historical narratives it is called "The rebel capital of the Bulgarian Revival". And the song "You are beautiful, my town" with lyrics by Lyuben Karavelov and music by Georgi Goranov was declared the official anthem of the town in 2014.

Koprivshtitsa is a historic town, located in the central part of Bulgaria, around 110 km east of Sofia, lying on the Topolnitsa River among the Sredna Gora mountains. It was one of the centres of the April uprising in 1876 and is known for its authentic Bulgarian architecture. Koprivshtitsa preserves the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival period of the 19th century. The town has a number of architectural monuments from the period.
