The extraordinary sitting of the Parliament scheduled for tomorrow, at the request of GERB-UDF and MR, is unlikely to take place. The request is because of the President's veto on the Energy Act, which also refers to the political dispute in the last week over Lukoil and fuel prices.

There should be a sitting and it is important for the people, because fuel prices will be discussed, said GERB which together with the MRF is demanding the extraordinary sitting on the last day of the campaign for local government elections.

Boyko Borissov - Chairman of GERB: "And after today's statements of both Prime Minister Denkov and Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, tomorrow is a great opportunity for the two parties, supported by the MRF to override the President's veto. They themselves say it is very important for the Recovery Plan, why should we delay the adoption of the Recovery Plan for weeks."

Radoslav Ribarski – “We Continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” MP: "We have expressed our concerns about the parliamentary rostrum being used to close the election campaign, especially since the Bulgarian energy sector has been held hostage for a whole month by this very political campaign and political battles."

Borissov warned his current partners in government that they are changing the formula:

The MRF is of the opinion that there should be such a meeting and the issue with Lukoil should be resolved. The "There is Such a People" are firmly in favour of a meeting on the grounds that the work of MPs is in Parliament.

Toshko Yordanov - Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of “There is Such a People” : "We will go. We were against this illegal recess in which the National Assembly dissolved itself . The work of the MPs is actually in the Parliament. Moreover, I don't know who will be there. It will be interesting to see, because there are some options, in this case, the non-appearance of someone could turn out to be a way of... how to say, blocking the President's veto. Because if enough parties come, the President's veto will be passed. It will be interesting to see who is on which side of the barricade."

“Vazrazhdane” party do not want to take part in the debate tomorrow.

Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of Vazrazhdane: "Our position has been very clear from the very beginning. We will not go to this sitting because we cannot be summoned by Peevski (MRF) from today to tomorrow. And that is why we have called on all other political forces, outside GERB and MRF, i.e. “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and “There is Such a People” not to go tomorrow, so that this way the meeting can be ruined and the President's veto can survive. The WCC-DB listened to us and will not go, if the BSP also do so, there will be no sitting tomorrow and the plan of the MRF and GERB will not succeed."

The BSP will not participate in the extraordinary session and will not be a "golden finger of GERB", BSP party leader Kornelia Ninova argued:

"Not just because we are on vacation or campaigning, but because of the substance of the issues to be decided. We are against it in principle. We believe that making household consumers buy electricity from the free market will lead to many people and families not being able to pay their bills. All the decisions concerning the oil refinery in Bourgas - from the beginning until now - are wrong and will lead to higher fuel prices."

BSP also said they will not enter the plenary chamber tomorrow.

Whether the extraordinary sitting of the Parliament will take place or not will become clear tomorrow at noon.
