"The Travelling Studio of BNT2" started its tour of the "Parliament of Europe 2025" project on 16th of April. The first stop was the town of Bansko, one of the leading ski resorts in Bulgaria. For 7 days, the information minibus will visit 13 towns and villages in Blagoevgrad region. The aim of the project is to inform the Bulgarian population about the work and the priorities of the European Parliament.

22-year-old Dimitar Prodanitchin helps in his parents' shop. He studies Marketing at a university in Sofia. According to him, the large number of tourists visiting the town supports the many retail outlets.

Young people remain in the town, because tourism is developed and they can find work, he said.

He is firm that he will remain in his hometown after graduating. In his words, the changed appearance of Bansko as a result of implemented European projects brings joy to the local residents and attracts many visitors..

Georgi Ikonomov,Mayor of Bansko Municipality: Without the help, without the funds and experience of the European Union, Bulgaria would not have been the same. For 10 years, it has significantly changed.

The same is the opinion of the Englishman James Hughes, who has lived in Bansko for 15 years and has a hotel in the resort. He says that good infrastructure is being built, and there are motorways which shorten journey times. He describes the Brexit vote of his compatriots as a big mistake.

We are much stronger united and much better. This decision to leave the EU, in my opinion as a businessman, was a very bad decision.

Open borders are one of the biggest benefits of our membership in the EU, Zorka Tumbaklieva says. Travelling without a visa regime anywhere in Europe is a great benefit for tourism, she added.

The local people also made recommendations to the Bulgarian MEPs, one of them being to stop the double standard for foods in different countries. Another recommendation was to increase the number ofsubjects with practical focus in secondary schools in small municipalities.
