Total number of coronavirus cases in Bulgaria rises to 187

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria reached 187 on March 22. According to the head of the national task force, prof. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, the epidemic peak in the country is expected within 2 to 3 weeks.

Twelve new cases were reported in Sofia. One of them is a 67 year old man in serious condition. He was admitted in Pirogov emergency hospital.

There is one new case in the town of Karlovo, Southern Bulgaria, 2 in the coastal city of Bourgas and 1 in Pleven, northern Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union reported the first case of a pharmacist with Covid-19 in Sofia. The woman is quarantined at home. The pharmacy, where she works in Nadezhda residential area is temporarily closed.

Meanwhile, it was reported today that some parts of the Lung Disease hospital in Sofia was quarantined as some staff tested positive for coronavirus.
