The number of registered unemployed at the end of August is 245,774 persons. They are 12,779 less than in July.
The unemployment rate in the country is 7.5%. There is a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to July 2020. At the same time there is an increase in the unemployed by 2.2 percentage points compared to August 2019.
There are over 24,000 newly registered unemployed in the country last month. The number of people who started a new job is 23,548.
The new jobs were in the manufacturing industry, hotels and restaurants, trade, car repair, civil service, construction and others.
In August this year, the announced vacancies were 18 048. They are by 4.7% more than last year.
The jobs that were most in demand in the month are: teachers, bartenders, waiters, cooks, workers in the mining and processing industry, construction and transport.
