Opportunities for investment in energy projects in Bulgaria and the North-South transport and energy connectivity project between Greece, Bulgaria and Romania were discussed yesterday in Washington by Finance Minister Assen Vassilev and Scott Nathan, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
In Bulgaria, DFC is involved in the project to expand the gas storage facility in Chiren.
Vassilev and Nathan commented on the potential involvement of the U.S. organisation in projects related to renewable energy sources - wind farms, solar and geothermal energy, as well as investments in their storage.
The development of Bulgaria's nuclear potential at Kozloduy NPP was also a focus of the discussion.
In Washington, Minister Vassilev participated in the 5th Southeast Europe & East Med conference, organised by the Delphi Economic Forum, the Ministry of Finance said on February 13.
