"In a scandalous series of events 2 days before the first round of local elections, the National Assembly was inexplicably interfered in the election campaign, the meeting of Presiding body of the Parliament has nothing to do with the conduct of the elections," said Nikola Minchev after the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on October 27.
The decision of the CEC is an attack on the conduct of fair and democratic elections, it is illegal, said Vasil Pandov.
"After the CEC’s decision, the Ministry of Electronic Government said that that the voting machines comply with the requirements of the Electoral Code. The CEC's decision has a single motive, that the machines do not comply because there is no decision of the ministry. In fact, the CEC did not wait for the Ministry to issue its decision. We will appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court against the CEC's decision. We believe that lawfulness will prevail. The deadline expires tomorrow and the CEC did not wait for it," said Vasil Pandov.
