‘GREEN DAYS’ FESTIVAL STARTS IN SOFIA

For fifth consecutive year, the Bulgarian capital Sofia will host the ‘Green Days’ festival, which will take place from 10th to 14th May in front of the Soviet Army Monument. Organic foods and healthy lifestyle are the focus of 2014 edition. Specialists will advise everyone willing to start a business in the area of organic farming, green guest houses or work as mountain guides.

Experts will also explain how home made products can easier get from the farm to the shops. One of the biggest treasures of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian rose, and all its usages in the cosmetic industry also have its place at the exhibition.

The Greenpeace organization has initiated a project dedicated to saving the honey bees and will conduct an awareness campaign on why pesticides should not be used in farming.

The ‘Green Days’ festival was oficially opened by the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, who said that Bulgaria had exceptionally beautiful nature and cultural heritage, but needed more promotion.
