The students from the Second English Language School "Thomas Jefferson" are the first in Sofia, who already have a STEM centre. The new virtual laboratories for studying were opened by the Minister of Education and Science, Krasimir Valchev.

STEM is an abbreviation for "Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics". Simultaneous teaching of two or more sciences builds natural links between subjects.

Innovative projects already exist in 300 schools, and 1,100 are equipped with wireless internet. Next year, there will be WI-FI in all 2,300 schools. The ministry also develops an electronic cloud with free content.
