Fifteen year old Maria Stoilova from the city of Stara Zagora, South Bulgaria, saved the life of a trolley-bus driver who passed out behind the wheel while the vehicle was in motion. Thus, the heroic girl managed to save everyone from road accident.
Maria and her classmates were on the trolley bus, when the driver lost consciousness behind the wheel. The ticket collector started shouting for help, most of the passengers panicked. Maria, who was sitting at one of the back seats, hopped out and rushed to the driver. She managed to bring the trolley-bus to a stop and gave the driver a life-saving artificial respiration.
Maria Stoilova lives in a home for children without parental care in the city of Stara Zagora. She has lived there for 9 years and studies in a sports school, trained in swimming.
In a special ceremony on 18th of January, the management of the sports school honoured Maria with an award for her heroic deed.

The district governor of Stara Zagora, eng. Georgi Ranov awarded Maria with an excursion to a cultural or historical site in Bulgaria, at her choice, and a catalogue of the most beautiful places to visit in Bulgaria.
