Twenty nine foreign nationals, all with no ID documents, were detained at the Bulgarian-Serbian border, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior said on 29th of September.
In the past 24 hours, 310 illegal migrants were stopped from violating the Bulgarian-Turkish border.
On 28th of September, Border police officers at Kaliotina border crossing arrested 18 foreign nationals during an attempt to cross the border illegally. The foreigners – three from Afghanistan, three from Iraq, four from Pakistan and eight from Syria were detained few metres away from the state border in the area of Livadite.
None of them had ID documents. Pre-court proceedings will be initiated by the regional prosecutor’s office in the town of Slivnitsa.
Another border police team has detained 11 Afghanistan nationals, all without ID documents, in the area of the village of Berende Izvor, Dragoman Municipality. The regional prosecutor’s office has been informed. They will be taken to the distribution centre of MoI’s directorate “Migration” in the town of Elhovo, South-East Bulgaria.
Six foreign nationals, all men, with no ID documents, were detained on 28th of September in the area of Indzhe Voivoda village, Sozopol municipality, South-East Bulgaria near the Black Sea. The illegal migrants claimed they were from Iraq. The work on the case continues.
