31st of October marks the international Black Sea day. Nineteen years ago, in Istanbul, the 6 countries which border the Black Sea signed the Strategic action plan for rehabilitation and protection of the Black Sea. The document outlined the frame for the joint efforts of the Black Sea coastal countries on the status and the future of this unique marine basin.
The plan contains 59 specific points related to measures for protection from pollution, improved management of the live resources, encouraging human development in a way, which does not compromise environment and undertaking steps for financing environmental projects.
