Bulgaria’s border police stopped a group of 70 migrants from illegally crossing into Bulgaria from Greece on 5th of June.
The group was detected checkpoint by video monitoring by the border police unit of Bulgaria’s town of Gotse Delchev, South-West of Bulgaria.
By means of video monitoring, the border police unit of Bulgaria’s town of Gotse Delchev, South-West of Bulgaria spotted the group on Greek territory of the border zone in the region of Ilinden and immediately notofied the Greek border authorities, who reacted quickly and returned the migrants to the interior of Greece from where they were arriving.
According to unofficial information, the migrants escaped from a refugee camp in Greece.
The strengthened security measures at Kulata and Ilinden border crossings remain in place.
