A plane flying from Warsaw to the Egyptian resort of Hurghada made an emergency landing in Bulgaria’s Bourgas on 19th of November after a passenger said he suspected there was a bomb on board. All passengers were evacuated. Teams of Directorate “Operational and Technical Investigation” carried out an inspection on the aircraft, but no explosives were found. Agents of Bulgaria’s State Agency for National Security and Border Police officers interviewed the passengers and checked the identity of each one of them.
The passenger who reported that a bomb was placed on the aircraft is 64 year old and in an interview by the authorities he admitted he drank alcohol before the laert. He said he wanted to make a joke.
Although no explosives were found on the aircraft, it will remain on the runway for 24 hours.
The Polish operator will send another aircraft to transport the passengers to the Egyptian resort of Hurghada. All passengers are well, doctor from Bulgaria’s emergency services confirmed.
