The results of samples for African swine fever taken from the animals in the village of Bozveliysko in Varna proved negative, the regional governor of Varna Stoyan Pasev said on 4th of September. However, the restrictive measures in the three-kilometer zone around the outbreak of infection remain in force because the incubation period is 14 days.
This means that the village of Tutrakantsi, where the first cases of infected animals were discovered, remains under quarantine, while Bozveli remains under monitoring. The ban on the export of pork meat outside the region of Varna remains in force. Veterinary experts say that after a few days they will again take samples and if the result is negative again, the restrictive measures will then be dropped.
