The airplane spraying against mosquitoes in areas along the Danube River will start on July 12, The Food Safety Agency said on July 10.
The first spraying will take place on the territory of Kozloduy municipality.
The aerial spraying campaign is aimed at applying insecticides to control mosquito population and prevent spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency reminds that when spraying with insecticides, it is necessary for beekeepers to take measures to protect the health of bees.
Regarding the forthcoming spraying on July 12, the municipal administration in Kozloduy has made arrangement to inform the beekeepers.
