The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 875 from 5,819 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 14. This means 13,5% of all tested for the period were infected.
The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia city (259), Plovdiv (87), Blagoevgrad (82), Stara Zagora (35), Bourgas (31) and Varna (27).
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 25,744.
The active cases 8,712.
Of the total, 1,307 patients are in hospitals, 64 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 164. The total recoveries are 16,139
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 1,415, including 31 new cases over the past 24 hours: 18 doctors; 7 nurses, 1 healthcare assistant, 2 paramedics and 3 other staff.
Eight Covid-19 related deaths were reported. Total deaths are 923.
