The Court of appeal in Belgrade has not overruled the decision of the first instance court for the extradition of the former banker and majority shareholder of Corporate Commercial Bank, Tzvetan Vassilev, the spokesperson of the Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor told BNT on 10th of June.
In practice, the magistrates have not yet dealt with the substance of the case and the second instance court has not issued a judgment yet.
The decision was returned to the lower instance court in Belgrade for technical reasons. It was returned for translation from Serbian to Bulgarian language and for handing it to Vassilev and his lawyers. This will ensure that his right of defence was respected.
