The torrential rains during the night caused serious damages to houses and cars were swept away. Electricity in the area has been cut off.
The Bulgarian government has declared, Monday, 23rd June, as a day of national mourning for the flood victims from Varna.
One man died in the area of Dobrich, in the North-East of Bulgaria, where the rainfall was 106 liters per square meter and a state of emergency has been declared. The rain is still going on. Some of the boulevards in the city have been closed because they are flooded.
