Blood donation Blood donation campaign to help the victims in the serious bus accident near Svoge was organised on 29th of August in "First City Hospital" in Sofia and in the University General Hospital in Bourgas.
After the tragic accident, Bourgas Hospital joined the appeals by Sofia medics and the National Centre for Transfusion Hematology for blood donors.
Dr. Svetlozar Georgiev, Deputy Director of the general hospital in Bourgas: We know how high the demand for blood is and that's why we feel it is our duty to help colleagues from hospitals who are doing their best to save the injured. Again, I repeat these are elderly people, where the blood loss is higher and the recovery is slower, he added.
Anyone willing to donate blood is encouraged to take part in the campaign to help save the life of the bus crash victims. The blood donation in Bourgas will take place in the building of First Polyclinic in the city.
