The surplus in the state budget exceeded 2 billion BGN and as of 31 July amounts to 2 billion and 23 million BGN. This is the preliminary data of the Ministry of Finance.

Budget expenditures by July 2018 amounted to 20.5 billion BGN, which is about 2 billion more compared to the expenditures from the same period last year.
The Ministry of Finance explained that the expenses on Euroepan projects and the national budget are rising, where the increase comes mainly from the raising of the pensions and the salaries of the teachers.
