Bulgaria’s caretaker Ministers of Energy and of Economy and Industry - Rosen Hristov and Nikola Stoyanov on November 4 visited the Greek Revithoussa LNG Terminal. The meeting was hosted by the Executive Director of the Greek operator DESFA Maria Rita Galli, the press centre of the Energy Ministry reported.

It was also attended by the directors of Bulgargaz Denitsa Zlateva and of Bulgartransgaz Vladimir Malinov. During the tour of the terminal, opportunities for long-term strategic cooperation were discussed. Among the main topics discussed was the potential possibility to increase the technical capacity of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector from 3 to 5 billion cubic metres per year.

The installation of additional compressor capacities to increase the pressure in the system of the Greek gas transmission operator was also discussed, as well as the timeframe for the implementation, the form and the participation in the financing of these activities. The delegation also observed the process of unloading the LNG tanker from Norway, destined for delivery in November under the contract between a Greek supplier and Bulgaria public supplier Bulgargaz.

The meeting is part of the two-day visit of a Bulgarian delegation to Greece led by caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev.
