The Bulgarian Ministry of interior (MoI) has disrupted the production and export of 10 000 fake Syrian passports to Turkey, announced the Chief Secretary of the MoI, Svetoslav Lazarov on 25th of August.
The production and sale of the fake ID documents was organized by a Bulgarian citizen in two printer’s offices in the town of Plovdiv.
6 people have been arrested, including the forgers.
The forged documents were to be used to facilitate the illegal entry of emigrants from Turkey into the EU, where they would then claim refugee status.
