According to the new law, which was passed by the Bulgarian MPs on 14th of July, consumers will have a 14 day period before they sign credit agreements when purchasing immovable properties.
Lenders will be required to explain to the citizens all the potential risks to their interest, which are “hidden” in the loan agreement. The use of small print in advertisements and agreements is banned. The ban on charging fees for utilization and management of the loan remains in place, as well as the ban on collecting several fees for one and the same thing. Consumers will have the right to fully or partially repay the loans without being charged additional fees for that.
