Bulgaria’s Parliament on December 13 voted to support the line-up of the new government, which includes four parties - “We Continue the Change” (WCC) , the Bulgarian Socialist Party, “There is Such a People” and Democratic Bulgaria. Kiril Petkov of WCC is Bulgaria's new Prime minister.
134 voted in favour, 104 voted against. No one abstained.
The voting was preceded by a nearly three-hour debate in which the opposition confirmed itself as such - GERB, Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Vazrazhdane.
Before the voting, Kiril Petkov of “We Continue the Change” presented the proposed line-up of the cabinet and the priorities of the governance for the next 4 years term.
He said that his first Order as Prime Minister would be the introduction of Covid-19 “green certificate” for entering the building of the Council of Ministers.
The new government will have five Deputy Prime Ministers – two from WCC, the largest parliamentary group and one from the other three coalition partners.
