Bulgaria’s President Roumen Radev on September 3 awarded Stara Planina Order 1st degree to the outgoing Ambassador of Greece, Grigorios Vassiloconstandakis.
The diplomat received the highest state award for his contribution to the development of the Bulgarian-Greek relations and bilateral cooperation.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President noted in his word that through his professional dedication and active work, Vassiloconstandakis contributed to the further development and deepening of the excellent relations between Bulgaria and Greece, and the development of our cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
"His professional and personal involvement was also the basis for expanding political dialogue at high and the highest levels. Today, relations between Bulgaria and Greece are proof that a strategic partnership can be built in the Balkans in a spirit of mutual trust and that strong political, economic, cultural, educational and scientific ties between countries can be developed. This strategic partnership is an achievement of our two countries that we can be proud of because it is an invaluable contribution to the European architecture for peace, stability and prosperity," Rumen Radev said. He expressed his conviction that relations between Bulgaria and Greece will continue to develop in a spirit of strategic partnership and mutual trust.
