Bulgaria’s President, Rosen Plevneliev, convenes consultations with parliamentary represented parties and government officials this afternoon, 14th of July, to discuss the financial situation in the country. State budget revision, updating the budget of the National Health insurance Fund and the situation related to the Corporate Commercial Bank will be among the main topics of discussion.
Today’s meeting is organized in relation to the implementation of the arrangements achieved during the political consultations on 29th of June to ensure coordination and guarantee continuity and smooth transition to the next government.
The officials invited to take part in the consultations are the Chairperson of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, the Chief Prosecutor and representatives of the management of the Bulgarian National Bank.
The discussion will also focus on the proposal for protection of the deposits in CCB, a week before its subsidiary Credit Agricole opens. On Friday, 11th of July, it was announced that there were missing records for loans worth 3,5 billion BGN from the CCB’s credit portfolio and that almost 206 million BGN had been withdrawn from the bank one day before the CCB was placed under special supervision.
BNT will follow development and will update the viewers as the events unfold.
