BULGARIA’S PRESIDENT: THE TERROR ACT IN NICE IS AGGRESSION AGAINST THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR CIVILIZATION

Bulgaria’s President strongly condemned the act of terrorism in Nice in which dozens of innocent civilians were killed and injured, including children, the press office of Bulgaria’s Head of State announced on 15th of July.

In a letter of condolences to the President of France, Francois Hollande, the Bulgarian President said that such acts of brutal violence and hatred were absolutely inadmissible and could not be justified in any way.

"The Republic of Bulgaria is shocked and firmly and strongly condemns this aggression against the foundations of our civilization. This horrendous act of helplessness shows that we should remain united and resolute in the fight against the terror threats. It is our common duty to unite efforts and to work towards building a more secure and peaceful world."

The Head of State offered, on behalf of the Bulgarian people and on his own behalf, condolences to the relatives of the victims and expressed hope for the speedy recovery of the injured. “In this difficult moment for the French people, we are grieving with you for the fallen. I am convinced that you will remain resolute in your efforts to quickly uncover those responsible for this inhuman deed and for them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the letter said.
