The best Bulgarian tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, has qualified for the semifinals of the tennis tournament in Acapulco (Mexico). He overcame Ernests Gulbis (Latvia) by 4:6, 7:6(2), 7:5 in a two hours and 39 minutes long match. With this win Dimitrov guaranteed his return to the Top 20 of the world rankings.
The 22 years old Dimitrov from the Bulgarian city of Haskovo took revenge on Ernests Gulbis by winning in the quarterfinals. Two weeks ago in Rotterdam Gulbis eliminated Dimitrov by 4:6, 6:7(4).
Dimitrov added 180 ranking points. In the semi-finals on Friday night, Grigor Dimitrov will play the former world number 2, Andy Murray (UK), who eliminated former world number 6, Gilles Simon, by 1:6, 7:6(4), 6:2, despite that at some point he went a set and 3-5 down.
In the other semifinal, the former world number 5 Kevin Anderson (South Africa) will play Alexander Dolgopolov (Ukraine).
