Bulgaria and 14 other EU countries have asked the European Commission to present measures to impose a price cap on all natural gas imported by the EU, not just that from Russia. The 15 countries want the measures to be presented, discussed and possibly approved this Friday at the energy ministers' meeting in Brussels.
At the same time, the European Commission today, September 28, presented an eighth package of sanctions on Russia, which includes a cap on the price of Russian oil, a new list of individuals and legal persons, as well as further restrictions on imports of Russian products worth EUR 7 billion.
Brussels is proposing a ban on European citizens sitting on the boards of Russian state-owned companies.
