Bulgaria is ready to help Serbia align its legislation with the EU laws, the Speaker of Bulgaria’s Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva, said after a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojkovic, on 11th of September.
The two noted that during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Serbia managed to open two chapters in the negotiation process. It is important for Belgrade to draw experience and not make the mistakes Bulgaria made on the road to the EU, said Maja Gojkovic. It is widely believed that the Western Balkans' European integration is the way to solve the problems in the region.
They also discussed joint infrastructure projects and assured that the two parliaments will adopt the necessary legislative initiatives for their implementation.
Karayancheva and Gojkovic also discussed the measures taken to improve the standard of living of the Bulgarian national minority in Serbia.
