Bulgarian air travel industry definitely got rid of the tentacles of the world economic crisis. The information comes from the traditionally issued annual report of the Bulgarian Airlines Association.
The report indicates that the Bulgarian airlines have increased their market share and provided service to nearly 1/3 of the passengers at the Bulgarian airports. The growth rate for 2014 is expected to reach 3% to 5%.
Nearly 7 million passengers in total were provided services through Bulgarian airports in 2013. Almost 2 million of them used regular and charter flights operated by Bulgarian airlines. For another year in succession, the increased number of charter flights operated by Bulgarian airlines in the world has been higher than the growth rate of regular flights.
The Bulgarian airlines have been scandalized by the proposal made by certain hotel and restaurant managers, according to which the number of tourists would increase if the state backed the penetration of low–cost carriers.
