The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) is likely to satisfy CSKA’s request to continue its participation in V AFG group as a new company instead of the old one.
This emerged from over an hour long meeting on 5th of October attended by representatives of the club, BFU and Bulgaria’s Ministry of Sports. However, after the meeting, BFU put two conditions to the Reds. The first condition wass that CSKA should provide contracts for continuity between the two companies – the new and the old one.
The second condition was that the new CSKA Football Club company should submit a request for membership in the BFU. After that, the BFU Executive Committee, which will be convened within the next 1-2 weeks, would pronounce its decision on the case.
BFU’s Executive Director, Borislav Popov and CSKA Sports Director, Plamen Markov refused to comment on the outcomes of the 5th of October meeting.
In June 2015, the Licensing Committee revoked the licence of CSKA to compete in the domestic A Group and the European tournaments due to outstanding tax liabilities, as well as money owed to former players and managers.
