The Director-General of the Bulgarian National Radio Andon Baltakovon October 21 submitted a letter to the Council for Electronic Media, informing the head of the supervisory body, Betina Zhoteva, that he would like an early termination of his contract, as of November 1.
The reasons: according to Baltakov, in the report of the Minister of Culture Boil Banov, which proposes a draft law amending the Law on Radio and Television, the text approved by the Bulgarian National Radio has been replaced.
That is why Andon Baltakov demanded the resignation of the Minister of Culture Boil Banov.
CEM’s Head, Betina Zhoteva, commented for BNT, that the members of the media regulator will hold a meeting with the BNR Director–General and expressed hope that he would reconsider his decision to resign.
