BULGARIAN NATIONAL TELEVISION LAUNCHES A NEW HD SERVICE

Tomorrow (7th February), BNT launches a new sports and entertainment channel - BNT HD. It will be available free-to-air and through the cable and digital operators. To watch BNT HD, viewers will need to rescan the TV channels. Cable operators’ customers will be able to watch the new channel if it is included in the package of provided services.

As a start, the new channel will show high quality sports programmes. BNT HD viewers will not miss even the small details in the crystal clarity of the picture during the 22nd Winter Olympics in Sochi. Gradually more content will be added - favorite series, feature films, documentaries, entertainment. BNT HD will keep the tradition of showing the greatest sports events – it will broadcast the 64 matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup final tournament in Brazil, the European qualifications of the Bulgarian national football team this autumn.

BNT1, BNT2 and BNT HD channels will show over 250 hours of TV content between 7th and 23rd February. BNT HD will broadcast additional 40 hours of coverage, mainly from the hockey tournaments, figure skating, speed skating, bobsleigh and luge.
