bulgarian president’s visit china continues

Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev invited representatives of state-owned enterprises in China to invest in Bulgaria. "Bulgaria has an important geostrategic situation, which should not be underestimated, it is an extremely important unit of the "One Belt, One Way" initiative, Radev stressed.

The President held talks with the Governor of Chinese province of Hubei on the development of a specific plan to jointly identify areas and projects of mutual interest and to find ways to implement them within certain deadlines - transport infrastructure, energy, automotive, green energy, agriculture, IT technologies.

The idea that Bulgaria will work on specific projects with the leadership of Hubei province will also be discussed at Radev's meeting tomorrow with Chinese President Xi Jinping. "It is very important for me to open the door to Chinese investments at a high political level," Radev commented.

On the second day of his visit to China on July 2, the President made a statement at the Dalian World Economic Forum, known as "Summer Davos", the BNR said.

The Northeast harbour city has been the host of the forum since 2007 at the initiative of the founder of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Professor Klaus Schwab, with whom Radev will meet.

Later, the President will travel to the Chinese capital Beijing.

Yesterday, Radev met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The two discussed topics such as launching direct flights between the two countries, opening a bank branch in Bulgaria of a leading Chinese bank, setting up a centre for scientific research and innovations.
