Prime Minister Oresharski stated he would support a referendum for changes in the voting rules to be held at the same time as the European Parliament elections in May, provided the questions of the referendum were precise and clearly defined in order to prevent misleading the public.
According to the Prime Minister, unclearly defined questions would be the greatest risk for such initiative as a referendum. He stressed that people should make informed decisions. Oresharski also said that there were various types of majority vote systems.
As regards the President’s question for electronic voting, Oresharski commented he would welcome it if it guaranteed the secrecy of ballot.
