Bulgarian state railways BDZ said on September 19 that because of the great interest in retro rolling stock, it is organising a steam train trip on September 22 when the country celebrates its Independence Day. The trip will be made with the steam locomotive on Sofia-Cherepish-Sofia route.
Return tickets, with reserved seats included, cost 29.50 BGN. Children up to the age of 7 will travel for free, but with no separate seat. A document to prove the age will be required when booking tickets. BDZ issued a reminder that children younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets can be bought from ticket offices and BDZ offices throughout the country, BDZ said.
