BULGARIAN SOCIALIST LEADER SERGEI STANISHEV BECOMES MEP

The leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Sergei Stanishev, has chosen to take up the seat of a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).

Stanishev submitted resignation from the Bulgarian Parliament on 23rd June, although previously during the EU elections campaign and after the vote he often repeated he would not take up his MEP seat in Brussels.
