The Bulgarian Specialised Prosecutor's Office will lead the network of prosecutors in 12 European countries working on investigations of organised crime groups.
The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe supports the work of the network for cooperation in penal criminal matters.
"The main purpose of this international network of prosecutors is precisely the informal exchange of information on cross-border organised crime. The aim is in real time to exchange information between the countries, which are members, in order to identify criminal activities at the time they are perpetrated and to seize and confiscate the material assets of the criminal organization, the ultimate goal being to hand over the persons to court and bear criminal responsibility," said Hristo Krastev, a spokesman for the Specialised Prosecutor's Office.
