The team of students from Sofia High School of Mathematics took first prize in the rating of the teams in the XII Zhautykov International Mathematical Olympiad (ZIMO) on Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science.
The Olympiad took place from 13 to 19 January, 2016 in Almaty city, Kazakhstan. 54 teams from 17 countries took part in the olympiad.
In the field of mathematics, Alexander Cherganski, Denitsa Markova and Violeta Naidenova won gold medals, while Daniel Atanasov won silver medal.

ZIMO is held annually on the basis of one school with ranking individual ratings and rating of the strongest teams of the best specialized schools.
The international Olympiad promotes strong professional links among physics and mathematics schools of different countries, develops information culture of students, and also allows to reveal the most talented students in the field of computer sciences, computer modeling and information technologies.
